The delegation attended a series of investment events including the 2008 International Investment Forum hosted by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). In addition to visiting the trade and investment fair, members of the delegation also held a private meeting with Mr. Jin Junhai, deputy governor of Shaanxi Province, to discuss investment cooperation, and attended the annual CIFIT mixer hosted by sister chamber AmCham South China.
AmCham Shanghai also hosted a symposium on Green Technology for Sustainable Development to review energy, environmental protection and green building issues. The symposium featured a keynote speech by Mr. Richard Stuebi, BP Fellow for Energy and Environmental Advancement with the Cleveland Foundation in addition to presentations and a discussion from green experts such as Robert Watson, founder of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) Green Building Rating System.
